KEeping the Flame alive
Volunteer Firehouse 11 was acquired by a loan to become the foundation of Alabama State Teaching College - Mobile Branch. Its historic location now sits at the center of the modern-day Bishop State Community College Downtown Campus. Since the beginning, its mission has stayed the same; to provide accessible education to the Mobile Community. Therefore, the mission of the 1927 Society is to uphold the legacy of education for the second century.
KEeping the Flame alive
In Bishop State's infancy, Volunteer Firehouse 11 was acquired by a loan to become Alabama State Teaching College - Mobile Branch. Its historic location now sits at the center of the modern-day Bishop State Community College Downtown Campus. Since the beginning, its mission has stayed the same; to provide accessible education to the Mobile Community. Therefore, the mission of the 1927 Society is to uphold the legacy of education for the second century.
The 1927 Society invites Bishop State Alumni to make a gift of $100 - a dollar for every year since our founding.
Alumni who join before the centennial will be recognized as founding members, and together, 1,000 founding members will provide $100,000 to prepare the next century of Bishop State students to follow their dreams and make a lasting impact in Mobile and beyond.
When our alumni give together, every gift becomes part of something greater. Your generosity will honor Bishop State's remarkable legacy, strengthen today's students, and shape the College's future.
